aaarrrggghhhh..

A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And, maybe, they’d be happy for a while.

..well, it's really been a long long time that I went on the playfield - and today I realized it really has been a long time. Two hours of nets could make me realize what two years of ignorance could not - that time flies by, and one becomes old! In essence, I went to warm my cricketing skills up in the nets today morning, after a cruel gap of four years (last I played Cricket was during our IIMK-IIMB sports meet days I guess, back in 2004). With the first time I rolled the arm over today, got a cramp - second brought a hamstring - third back pain, and the fourth one a ligament tear - well, almost..

Guess will go back to some light routine in next few days, once this pain subsides. And then, some regular stuff.. I swear, this time is for real.

...memories..

So often it seems that memories bring with them feelings of sadness and longing for what once was. But today a surge of memories brought me not only a sense of calm remembrance, but a blissfully refreshing sense of spirit.

I was driving down the road, trying to clear my mind from the overwhelming chaos of life. Then I heard it - a song, the song. You know that one song that can lift your spirit no matter what the circumstances; that one song that makes you throw out all your fears or sadnesses with complete abandon; and makes you forget everything but the goodness and beauty in the world. It was that song for me. And I allowed myself to become lost in it; my mind drifting backwards to a time when beauty was all I allowed myself to know.

And away my mind drifted, to a world full of memories that brought with them such sheer happiness that I found myself embracing the memories and inviting even more. My mind drifting - to a place so far away, and yet so close - to an open road surrounded by mountains and hills; then the arid purity of the desert stretching for endless miles; then the warm greeting of the familiar Atlantic. What an incredible journey - one that will live on in my memories forever.

back to the basics..

I was reading this book on Geology today, that gives theoretical insights into the basic concepts of petrology, rocks & their formation, dams, rivers, winds, glaciers, folds, faults, crystals, yada yada yada..

The book - one of my course books, that we used to study during our engineering.
The drive - to read something I could hardly learn in the yesteryears, to see if it still makes no sense to me.
The result - Spent four hours in reading a book of 400 pages, and unfortunately, it seems like the book really makes sense!

It was very strange to understand all the things that I used to find alien a few years ago (six years ago, to be precise) - we had this dreadful subject called geology, and cramming your tiny brain with all the stuff on these 400 pages, in the perfect order, was the only way of getting in the good books of the prof (or in other words, get some decent marks).

I have never been someone who can reproduce a sentence written in the book, exactly in the similar way in the examination - I even used to goof up theorems in childhood, because one can not afford to miss a word here or there. And when it came to learn a full book of 400 pages, right in order, it was just a hopeless case – hopeless, but good. Good, because I knew I can not cram it up, and hence, there was no point reading it, and wasting time as well.

On the day of our geology exam – I remember I had given the book three complete hours to go through – and today, I gave four! What an irony..

It's amazing to know that there is so much to learn about geology – a subject that I hardly had any respect for. Did you know that there are three kinds of rocks (Obviously you would know this – Sedimentary, Igneous and Metamorphic). But did you know that Igneous rocks alone can be sub-classified into 28 different types of rocks, and that too only on the basis of texture! You have another 12 types of classifications based on mode of formation, another 9 based on depth of origin, further 8 on mode of occurrence.

Or did you know that minerals are classified on basis of 15 properties, the first one of which, i.e. form is further divided into 13 types. Likewise, if you look at all the sub-classifications for minerals, it adds up to more than 100!

And Dr. MPSM (our prof for Geology) expected us to remember all those, right in order, with proper examples as well. What more, he also expected us to identify what will a type be, if he just shows us a rock or a mineral in the lab.

And then I wonder whether even my boss would expect this much from me today. Does that mean my intellectual capacity is increasing or decreasing? Good question, huh.. Guess C will agree on this now!

Confused @#(^$*%

More than 2 months going down the drain, yet again..

And this time was happening in ways more than one. Maruti & GB coming my way; and what all didn't, I wudn't like to boast of.
Then came the convocation, which was with the trip of Bangalore-Mysore-Ooty-Calicut.
And I go over to Bangalore to spend yet another week. And then, crushed.
Back to Delhi, and had PDC. Met Deepak. Same as ever.
Roaming around now; still unable to decide what I oughta do.
As usual, helllllppppppp!!!!!!!......

Play

well well...
it has been quite some time now, since I last logged in...
hav been busy in all these goddamn classes, with loads of reports to b submitted..
anyways, that phase is almost over, and its kinda chill now..

for last so many days, my only rescue has been in the form of baddy matches i hav been playing; and those too, unto the time i fall down with exhaustion.
and yes, it reminds me all the time of all the gud times i hav spent at DCE, while playing baddy..
i still all those games, all those yellings, all those shouts, whne I was supposed to just kill the shuttle, without even having the capability to do it..
But surely now I can do it..staying away from all beloved ones has really taught me a lot.. Now i can play far better than i used to..
I assure you sardar, playing today with me, u wont hav to ask me to do something..u'll b sure to hav it considered done.. I no longer am a doubles player.. Now i know how to do it..
yes, i do know it; but what's the use..
All the more I play, further it reminds me of the gud times i hav spent at DCE..
cant write anymore..feeling a bit nostalgic..
will get back soon..
